Bushfire Trauma and Caring for Your Mental Health

Bushfires have had a significant impact on the well-being and mental health of AWU members, their families and communities.

Your health and well-being are of the utmost importance to the AWU. The AWU is actively supporting members through this difficult time.

If you have been affected by the bushfires, you can get up to 10 free counselling sessions to support you through the immediate trauma and crisis, through:

  • advice on distress interventions
  • coping strategies
  • social supports
  • counselling family based psychological interventions
