Safety Matters

August 20, 2019 11:38 am

Making sure AWU Members have safe and healthy workplaces is a top priority for our union.

Unfortunately, we’ve heard disturbing reports lately of workers being put under pressure not to report important safety issues.

We’ve attached an important reminder of your right to always speak up for safety in the workplace.

Make sure to share the AWU’s Safety Matters flyer around and spread the message that it’s not ok for workers to be bullied for speaking out.

Download our Safety Matters! flyer and share it around your workplace.

It’s only by sticking together that we can guarantee we’re in the best possible position to fight for safe workplaces – because every member deserves to go home safe and well at the end of every day.

Talk to a workmate about joining the AWU for a safer workplace.

Be a part of our community.

Join the AWU.

Stronger together.

Sign the Petition: Queensland Health workers deserve what they’re owed

Right now, AWU members in hospitals right across Queensland are putting their own safety at risk to keep the community safe and healthy during the middle of a global pandemic. Sign our petition to send a message to the Government that their health workers deserve to be paid what they’re owed.

    Our Tarkine, Our Future

Mining and nature have coexisted in the Tarkine for over 100 years. Mining and conservation have gone hand in hand, making sure that the environment is protected, while supporting local families to keep putting food on the table.   Mining is a critical part of the region’s economy.
