Delegate and HSR training is available throughout the year.<\/p>\r\n<p>Our team provides experience and support in both Delegate and OHS Training and are available for further assistance if required.<\/p>\r\n<p>For more information on all courses available, or if you have any training related questions, please contact the Training Department on <a href=\"tel:0383270888\">(03) 8327 0888<\/a> or email <a href=\"mailto:training@awu.net.au\">training@awu.net.au<\/a> to make a booking.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>To view or download a copy of the new 2024 training schedule click for Melbourne and Geelong <a href=\"https:\/\/awu.net.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/1-1.png\">here<\/a>, and click <a href=\"https:\/\/awu.net.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/2.png\">here<\/a> for Regional Training.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Training is held in our West Melbourne office at 685 Spencer Street unless otherwise specified.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Courses:<\/p>\r\n<h2><strong>Delegates 1: Foundations of an Active Union \u2013 2 Day Course<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p>This Course is designed to educate a delegate with a strong based on knowledge about their role and how to actively perform it.<\/p>\r\n<h2><strong>Delegates 2 and Delegates 3: Building a Strong Union \u2013 2 Day Course<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p>This course follows on from Delegates 1 and further develops the participants\u2019 skills and knowledge.<\/p>\r\n<h2><strong>Delegates Refresher \u2013 1 Day Course<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p>This course is a yearly refresher course, designed to provide senior delegates an opportunity to revise and further develop their skills. The course will include updates on changes throughout the year to legislation and EEO and is the next stage for all who have completed their Advanced Delegates Training<\/p>\r\n<h2><strong>2024 HSR Initial OHS Training Course<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p>The AWU is a WorkSafe Approved Training Provider for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs). We offer the following approved HSR Initial OHS Training Course<\/p>\r\n<h2><strong>HSR Initial OHS Training Course <\/strong>\u2013 Cost $1000 per person (payable by employer)<\/h2>\r\n<p>This introductory OHS course has been approved by WorkSafe Victoria. The HSR Initial OHS Training Course is 5 days and provides HSRs with the basic skills and information to represent members in matters relating to OHS.<\/p>\r\n<p>Under Section 67 (3)(c) of the Victorian OHS Act 2004, elected HSRs are entitled to attend an approved training course chosen by the HSR in consultation with their employer<\/p>\r\n<p>The AWU encourage all HSRs to attend training delivered by their union.<\/p>\r\n<h2><strong>2024 HSR Refresher OHS Training Course<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p>The AWU is a WorkSafe Approved Training Provider for Health and Safety Representatives (HSR\u2019s). We offer the following courses for HSRs<\/p>\r\n<h2><strong>HSR Refresher OHS Training Course<\/strong> \u2013 Cost $450 per person (payable by employer)<\/h2>\r\n<p>The Victorian OHS Act also entitles elected HSRs to attend Annual OHS Refresher training. These courses, subject to WorkSafe approval, are modular based and will provide HSRs with the opportunity to revise current OHS knowledge and further develop skills in the identification and control of hazards in the workplace.
